So, hello and welcome. A little about me… I’m British, in my mid-twenties and have two distinguishing characteristics:
a) an unexplained desire to accumulate yarn, fabric, pencils and inks
b) a fully paid-up membership to the Association for Neurobiological Diversity.
As the internet seems to be full of guilty crafters trying to hide their materials from the accusing eyes of loved ones, I think I’ll just stick with an explanation of (b).
In short, I have experienced periods of mental ill-health for as long as I can remember, and was awarded my bipolar 1 badge seven years ago. (They give them out like swimming awards, don’t you know). Unfortunately I wasn’t smart enough to take out shares in GlaxoSmithKline at the same time. I now work in mental healthcare, which seems ironic given my hate-hate relationship with psychiatry.
None of this seems to get in the way of my love of coffee, reading, cereal (my staple diet – thank goodness it’s fortified) and crafting. My true passion is cake, with excessive baking being the one symptom of my hypomania that is actively welcomed.
It should also be said that I have a talent for being easily amused. If you don’t believe me, here’s the proof: I’m seriously in love with this happy cactus.

Finally, a short philosophy of life. Firstly, we are what we do; second, even really awful things are good for us in the long run. Just like dark green leafy vegetables.
